This another of my work experiences that I want to share with all who takes the time to listen. Especially black people. I'm a black man so this is an opportunity for me to drop some wisdom on my people who have the sense to take advantage of it.
For those who've read some of my earlier posts know that I work at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA.
Highland is a county hospital that excepts everyone and everything, no one is turned away. If that's not bad enough, add all the gun shot wound, motor vechical accidents, assault, and all emergency patients in the Eastbay you pretty much have a circus going 24/7.
Black people should understand that we're all being watched more closely then other people and the majority class has different rules when it comes to dealing with us. We must follow the guidelines and not give them any excuse to use the authorities against us, but time and time again some of our folks will come into the hospital drunk, high, and unable to control their emotions. I know that trauma situations are difficult to handle, but we still must keep our composure not be quick to act out a scene in a "hood" movie.
