I got to say that the job market is looking very horrible for me. I shot off a good 100 resumes and got only 1 interview. The interview went totally, not in my favor. It was with Apple and I applied because they're slogan, "Think Different" signaled to me that they were a open minded company as far as diversity.
I peeped in there and I seen two bros out of the 20 employees they had on the floor. They were the suburban "Carlton Banks" less intimidating bros. The ones that white folks feel comfortable around.
I'm dreaded up, muscular, and extremely masculine. When my eyes caught the interviewers first reaction to me, I pretty much knew they didn't like me, but I decided to finished the interview anyway. The store manager was rolling his eyes each and every time I spoke. The assistant manager was spooked by me as well as all the other interviewees.
I still like Apple products and I'm not going to hold that against them because they have the right to hire who they want. Even thought they hired some bros, I wasn't their kind of bro. I accepted it and may God continue to bless them.
No matter how much I need a job I'll never beg to get hired. Take me as I am or don't take me at all.
The news is that God is opening up doors for me and I see some opportunities coming my way. They're right around the corner.
God Bless!
