They Call U When Then Need U
Just before the spring of this year one of close friends borrowed $1500 from me to pay processing fees for a loan that was going to fetch him $150000.
I've him since the early 90's and I've lent him money before and he lent me money, we both paid each other back, so there was credibility between us.
We both work and run businesses on the side and he was in position to qualify for a loan, so he asked me to help me out.
He told me that the processing fees were $3000.00 and I agreed to lend him $1500 under the condition that when he got the loan he was going to shoot me back $3000.
At the time I was doing pretty good. I had about $5000 in my checking & savings accounts, so that $1500 wasn't going to hurt me immediately. But things can take a turn for the worst in a blink of an eye.
He said it would take a week for the bank to complete the loan process. Before the week was out I had lost my job, got evicted and started paying a super high amount in child support, things was getting all bad.
To top that off, when I was expecting to hear from him about the loan, he didn't call. I tried calling him numerous times, he didn't return my calls until days later.
He told me that he didn't get the loan and that he would return my cash in two weeks. He was my folks, so I gave him a pass because I believed that he was going to do what he said. I didn't happen. He's a merchant seamen, so he jumped on the boat, for work, but promised to pay me when he came back.
I discovered from my brother that he's back in town and I'm sad to say that he has not made an attempt call me to make things right.
I'm kind of upset about that because I thought dude was a honest person. I hope that this can be solved in a civil way.
