The media play these games that demonize my city and people in it. Perceive all those of my shade to be all pistol packing, crime spree, death dealing, monsters looking for any reason take some get back out of the majority's flesh.
For most of my folks, we're trying to live the best way can by following the orders of set the them in power.
We work, pay bills, provide for our families, and try to inspire to live at a higher level. Doing what it takes to obtain that dream that we heard on tv, radio, read in print, and see on the internet that we're promised.
Born in the land of the free, so that dream is our birth right. At least, that's what we're led to believe. In real life you stand a better chance at catching air in the palm of your hands then you do at chasing and catching a dream.
Most work til they die or to they get disabled and are rewarded with little piece of nothing. Some show all the guts to get they stuff by operating outside the parameters of the system and they might get a little something but they all end up in the pen or dead at an early age. The risks out weigh the rewards by a long shot.
A small few that benefit from having their talent converge with their preparation and having the opportunity to display to people who got power to put em on the next level gain that celebrity status. They might be great at sports, sing dance, paint or good in school. The point is that these diamonds in the rough are scoop up for the pleasure of the folks who called the shots.
99% that get to this part and are clueless to all that came before, don't worry that's just how it is.
